Who Are We?

One of the most formidable local political parties that has lasted the test of time is the most feared political organization (at both the national and local levels) since its formation in the mid-1980s.
The Padayon Pilipino political party (acronym PADAYN) has surmounted political adversity against all difficulties. For nearly three decades, PaDayon Pilipino has fought and upheld its reputation as the political party of the less fortunate and downtrodden.

PADAYON PILIPINO was founded in 1994 by Vicente Y. Emano who was the Provincial Governor of Misamis Oriental at that time.

It will be recalled that Mayor Emano before 1994 was one of the respected leaders of PDP-Laban in Mindanao being the Provincial Chairman of the Party of Misamis Oriental and even later became the Regional Chairman of the Party, being staunch believer of the Party’s doctrines which mostly aligned with his concept of governance and service to his people especially the least privileged, the marginalized sector of the society.

Due to difference in principles, Emano and his other party-mates left PDP-Laban and formed a local party. They then worked for a regional party adopting such doctrines and principles that are believed to stand for the betterment of lives of the people and the definition of a common goal that best represent the interest of its members. Since then, seminars were conducted regularly for basic membership until recently.

PADAYON PILIPINO has since then initiated the empowerment of the marginalized sectors of Misamis Oriental and Cagayan de Oro City. And this program was brought to the neighboring provinces of Northern Mindanao beginning 2007. In 2010, the party was formally organized into a regional political party. It has added chapters in Camiguin, Bukidnon, Iligan City, Lanao del Norte and Misamis Occidental.

PADAYON PILIPINO has continually pushed for government support for the youth through scholarship programs, land for the poor and the delivery of basic services to the poor and marginalized. PADAYON PILIPINO members have long been involved in organizing marginalized sectors and helping them get basic services and other benefits.
